In early 2019, we decided that as a 75 year old company (at the time), we wanted to bring in more and more local purveyors and vendors. So we ended a long relationship with a coffee vendor out of Los Angeles, and decided to use a local coffee roaster.
This was decided for many reasons:
– Fresher Beans
– Supporting the local economy
– Better Coffee
– Better, state of the art brewing equipment
– Multiple deliveries per week
When all was said and done, we decided that we would use Cafe Moto , a local roaster less than five miles from our restaurant.
Cafe Moto, while founded in 1990, has local coffee roasting roots dating back to the 1960s. Led by second-generation owners Torrey and Kimberly Lee, this Barrio Logan roaster agreed to make us our own blend for Hob Nob.
They provide and service our machines to ensure they are perfectly calibrated.
And they roast our beans in small batches every several days to ensure quality and freshness.
We couldn’t be happier with this relationship we have fostered. From our House Blend, the V12 Cold Brew to our Indo Noir Espresso Beans, and our teas, Cafe Moto brings us amazing products twice a week.
The proof is in the cup.
Try our coffee the next time you’re in. We even have retail bags for you to take home!
